What you’ll be doing: As a new IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be reporting to the IT Security Manager and will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s server, network, and cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of our systems. This role requires a deep understanding of network architectures, server environments, and IT best practices. Practically speaking, your responsibilities will include: Server Management: * Deploy, configure, and maintain server hardware and software components. * Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance. * Implement and manage server security measures, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. * Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning to safeguard data integrity. * Automate server provisioning and maintenance tasks to streamline operations. Network Administration: * Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. * Monitor network performance and optimize configurations for maximum efficiency. * Troubleshoot network issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime. * Ensure network security by implementing access controls, VPNs, and other security measures. * Collaborate with vendors and service providers to procure and manage network services. Virtualization and Server: * Experience with virtualization environment setting ESxi and vSphere environments. * comfortable working with Linux servers. * Deploy and manage virtual servers, containers, and any cloud service. * Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency and scalability. * Implement cloud security best practices including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance controls. * Monitor cloud services for performance, availability, and security compliance. Collaboration and Documentation: * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define infrastructure needs. * Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures. * Provide technical guidance and support to other team members. * Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in infrastructure engineering. What you’ll bring: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology * 7+ years of proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role * CCNP or higher certifications * Proficiency in server administration including Linux/Unix and Windows systems * Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols * Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud * Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible as well as strong scripting or development background * Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail Looking for meaningful work?
