Job description: Position: Journeyperson Carpenter – Bearspaw Feeder Main Repair ProjectProject Type: WaterProject Location: CalgaryShift: Day or NightSchedule: 7 days a weekAccommodations: Local OnlyTravel Details: Not AvailableGC: GrahamAllied Partner: Technical Workforce Inc.Reference Number: 27190We are currently recruiting for Journeyperson Carpenters to join the team at the Bearspaw Feeder Main Repair project in Calgary!This position is in Calgary, AB and does not have camp accommodations, travel allowance, or living out allowance.Shift is 7 days and could include day or night shift.This project has an immediate start of August 26th, 2024. Following completion on the project, there is crew up at the Bonnybrook project which is 2 years worth of work.AS A CARPENTER, YOU WILL:
- Be able to free form (have previous experience)
- Build forms for concrete
- Cut, shape, and join
- Look for and fix deficiencies
- Building of hoarding and other temporary structures
- Checks accuracy of work, and makes adjustments as required
- Studies blueprints for work planning
- Constructs and forms chutes for pouring concrete
- Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
- Acts as a work leader and mentors to apprentice carpenters
- Informs immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
- General site upkeep
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Preference will be given to a Journeyperson Carpenter Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
- Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
- Experience with Free Forming required
- Light equipment operating experience an asset
- Certifications needed: CSTS & WHMIS
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
