We give our employees ample opportunity to pursue their interests and passions and support them as their careers progress.Black Diamond Group’s Corporate Accounting team has a full-time position for a Jr. Analyst, FP&A in Calgary, Alberta.Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Jr. Analyst, FP&A will assist in maintaining and updating financial models, preparing routine financial reports, and supporting the overall financial analysis process.This position will involve providing support for monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting cycles, including gathering and organizing financial data, helping prepare reports, and assisting with the preparation of management presentations. - Assist in the regular update and maintenance of financial data within existing financial models.
- Support the preparation of monthly internal P&L reports by providing necessary data and ensuring accuracy.
- Help gather and organize data for basic trend analysis.
- Aid in the collection and entry of data for forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes.
- Assist in the creation of simple reports and presentations for meetings
- Provide assistance with preparing files and information for the year-end audit.
- Respond to routine accounting questions and assist in resolving basic issues.
- Help business units collect data related to segment/divisional results.
- Provide general support on special projects, including organizing financial data.
- Support ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree and/or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in accounting/finance or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good business writing skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with financial models and basic formulas in Excel.
- Experience in creating basic graphs in Excel or PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with EPM/EPBCS (Oracle Cloud) is an asset but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Proactive and willing to take initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be fluent in English, both oral and written.
