Do you want to work for a company that values professional development?We are looking for a professional and detailed-oriented Jr Tax Accountant for our Head Office located in Calgary to prepare and maintain the Canadian and US taxes for our company!A Day in the Life:
- Prepare monthly US and Canadian Sales Tax Returns
- Reconcile all tax accounts monthly
- Maintain the Sales Tax System and ensure all Exemption Certificates are maintained and up to date
- Research and provide guidance internally and externally on sales tax queries
- Provide tax audit support for annual financial audit and government audits
- Complete new tax filing registrations and business licenses as required
- Other tax forms as required
- Assist with the preparation of:
- o Quarterly tax provision
- o Annual Canadian Tax Return
- o Information required for the US Corporate Tax Returns
- o Transfer pricing documentation
- o Respond to government queries for tax filings, registrations, audit requests, and other as required
- o Develop written policies, procedures and control processes relating to tax for our company
- o Provide recommendations for improvement
- o Other duties as assigned
What You Bring:
- 2+ years’ related tax experience
- Basic understanding of indirect tax and Canadian corporate income tax
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills and willingness to work closely with the rest of the Tax Team
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to deal with large amounts of financial data
- Capacity to pick up and learn multiple different systems
