Winnipeg, ManitobaOn behalf of our client, Kalshea Commodities Inc., we are looking for a Junior Accountant to join their team. Family owned and operated for more than 20 years, Kalshea Commodities Inc. is a leading provider of quality Canadian special crops. They take pride in sourcing the best products available, direct from Canadian farmers, to meet the unique needs of each customer they have in Canada, the United States and more than 35 other countries around the world.Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing all Accounts Payable and Receivables for Kalshea as well as assisting the Operations Coordinator in other tasks.As the Junior Accountant you will:

  • Process and electronically file vendor invoices and payments
  • Process receivables in SAGE and file physical copies of paid invoices.
  • Create producer grain receipts per Canadian Grain Commission Standards as well as ensuring proper volumes, dockage, and levies are applied.
  • Maintain Grain Commission spreadsheet & levy tracking spreadsheets for monthly reporting in Excel.
  • Create and track vendor and producer purchase orders.
  • Create sales contracts.
  • Assist warehouse with shipping and receiving instructions.
  • Customer invoices
  • Maintain and reconcile bank accounts.
  • Follow-up with customers on overdue invoices.
  • Oversee and maintain receivable insurance customer list.
  • Assist in maintaining monthly Inventory.

You and Your Experience:

  • A University degree or diploma in Business Administration or Accounting or equivalent related experience.
  • Agriculturally related work experience would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of SAGE Accounting is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel.
  • Possesses excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Possesses detail orientation and organizational skills.
  • A driver’s license and access to a vehicle is preferred.
