Our core product is a Transaction Management Software that manages the new home sales process from lead capture, demand intake and analysis to closing and is built around our core inventory management and contracting system which is where we started.SummaryAvesdo is the leading Canadian proptech company, and we’re looking for a detail-oriented Accountant who can solve problems with an analytical approach, to join our Finance team!You will get exposure to understanding financial statements on a holistic level and opportunities to develop groundbreaking technologies in payment processes relating to real estate. What you’ll do
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable
- Manage end-to-end Accounts Receivable process including, but not limited to invoicing customers, processing deposits received, and collections follow-up emails
- Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable process including, but not limited to processing vendor bills, compliance with policies & responding to vendor inquiries
- Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations ensuring the accuracy of cash reporting & coding of transactions
- Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support management decision-making
- Prepare revenue forecast, and annual budget, including quarterly revisions and monthly updates and ensure actual results match budget accounts
- Review employee expenses for accuracy, provide summary reports for management reporting and payment
- Prepare monthly Financial Statements to be presented to the management team
- Prepare and track monthly sales commission for our sales team
- Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders in a professional and timely manner
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all required tax forms and documents
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive financial information
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and changes in accounting standards
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting operations
- Support with ad-hoc finance and other admin requests as needed
What do you bring
- At least 1 year of prior experience in Accounting/Finance in a similar role, inclusive of internships or co-op positions
- Fresh graduates in Accounting/Finance, Commerce, Management, Business, or other related programs
- Accounting majors, candidates pursuing their CPA designation (Preferred)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites: Excel and Google Sheets (advanced, Vlookups, pivot tables and charts, macros, etc.), Word, and PowerPoint.
- Attention to detail, with strong research and organizational skills
- Solid data entry skills with an ability to analyze large amounts of information and identify numerical errors
- Knowledge of or open to learning a range of data transformation and modelling tools to create custom algorithms for example: SQL, Python, Power Query, and VBA
- Exceptional writing, good communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and handle many priorities simultaneously
- Hands-on experience with accounting software, like QuickBooks and using payment service providers, like Stripe is a plus
