This position ensures the accuracy of the General Ledger on the Financial System through monthly account reconciliations and ensures travel, expense and Pcard claims are processed in accordance with NAIT policy and procedures. This position is responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end analysis and working papers for the financial statements.Key Responsibilities:Provide training and support to NAIT staff for the travel and expense module in PeopleSoft FinanceAct as accounting reviewer and provides thorough review of all travel, expense and Pcard transactions submittedReconciliation of various general ledger accounts for monthly, quarterly and year end reportingProcesses one time and weekly cheque run as requiredOther related duties including but not limited to:o Back up to Intermediate Accountanto System testing for upgradesSkills & Abilities:Demonstrated ability to work within a teamExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent time management skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteExceptional oral and written communication skillsStrong Excel skills and a demonstrated ability to learn and apply mainframe software applications. Preference will be given to those with PeopleSoft Finance experienceQualifications:Minimum of an accounting diploma or related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institutionThorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices is requiredExperience in Accounts Payable would be an assetEquivalencies may be consideredApplicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).Remuneration: $55,138.46 – $72,519.72 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
