Job description: Job Title: Junior Accounting ClerkDepartment/Team: AccountingLocation: Markham, OntarioType of job: Full-time, PermanentStart Date: August 2024POSITION OVERVIEWWe have an immediate need for a Junior Clerk to join our Accounting team in our Markham, Ontario office. Reporting to the Sr. Bookkeeper, this position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity for a junior accountant to begin building a long-term career at an established company.This role requires a results-oriented team player who thrives in an ever-evolving, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have proven accounting education and experience and will be able to hit the ground running.RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:· Responsible for processing Accounts Payable – recoding, scheduling payment per required terms, printing, issuing and mailing cheques weekly· Responsible for processing inventory transactions – coordinate with Production and Engineering to confirm Purchase Order details – identify what is pre-paid, if goods have been received, only process invoices when goods have been received so that inventory on hand is recorded accurately· Attend inventory management meetings· Prepare required reports as needed, including monthly Production and Engineering Purchase Order Report· Communicate with vendors – respond to payment inquiries and follow-ups· Prepare credit applications· Maintain accurate records of R&D Purchase Orders, Assets, Legal, etc.· AMEX Processing – Record all monthly AMEX charges, ensure all AMEX card holder submit expense reports on time, etc.· Act as a back-up for Accounts Receivables – Issuing A/R invoices through database, coordinating with logistics team, and recording accurate information into the Accounting software, sending copies of invoices to customers· Process all incoming mail· Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSTechnical Knowledge & Skills· Post-Secondary education in Accounting from a recognized institution· 1-2 years of Accounting experience, ideally in an organization that processes sales· Experience with Quick Books· Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Competencies & Attributes· Impeccable attention to detail· Possesses the ability to review and identify inconsistencies in large amounts of data or information· Excellent interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written communication skills are required· Strong problem-solving skills· Ability to prioritize and multi-task in to complete numerous competing tasks· Must be a team-oriented self-starter with a strong work ethic, and a sense of urgency with the ability to embrace and drive change with a “make it happen” attitude· Flexible and adaptable; be willing to take on new challenges (new assignments, different roles, etc.) when the need arises· Ability to analyze current processes, to make recommendations and implement better practices, where appropriate; think outside the box and bring innovation to problem-solving· Demonstrate role ownership and accountability; be a dedicated and responsible member of the team· Open to feedback, and suggestions from co-workers, and supervisor· Ability to both learn new tasks and train others as requiredCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITSQuanser has a team-oriented and technologically passionate culture, offering competitive salaries commensurate with experience level and a full group benefits package including Health, Dental and Vision coverage.
