KEY RESPONSIBILITIESReporting to The Chop Shop’s Owner, the Junior Controller will take the lead and own all things on the accounting and finance front. You will be responsible for:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, generate financial reports and summaries, analyze financial data and drive company performance.
  • Accounting Operations: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, and manage financial transactions, bank reconciliations, journal entries and cash flow.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, conduct variance analysis, report financial performance, and financial planning and analysis.
  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with GAAP and The Chop Shop’s internal controls, oversee internal and external audits, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Process Improvement: Optimize The Chop Shop’s systems, processes and controls to enhance and promote operational efficiency, productivity and company success.
  • Support to Senior Leadership: Offer financial insight and support for The Chop Shop’s Owner to support data-prove decisions.

BACKGROUND & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess a CPA-designation with a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or any related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting or finance experience as a Senior Accountant or Junior Controller.
  • Technically versed in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook) and QuickBooks Online.
  • You enjoy working in-office, new challenges and want to help The Chop Shop grow.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with clients, staff, and vendors.
  • Independent collaborator that can work on your own and seamlessly with your team.
  • Resourceful and resilient problem-solver with good decision-making abilities.
  • Great organization and time-management skills to manage competing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented and dedicated to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
