Job description: Job DescriptionWe are seeking qualified candidates for a Junior Financial Accountant role in Dartmouth, NS. This role is a key member of our clients’ finance team, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. As the successful candidate in this permanent role, the Junior Financial Accountant will provide day-to-day reconciliation, analysis, and financial support to the organization and its associated entities.Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Accounts receivable
• Accounts payable
• Vendor communication
• Bank reconciliations
• Project cost allocations
• Month-end journal entries
• Project set-up and close-outs
• Payroll backup
• Support and liaise with project managers regarding purchase orders
• Other accounting and analysis duties and projects as needed

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Post-secondary education in accounting of finance
• Enrollment in or desire to enroll in the CPA program is preferred
• 2 years’ experience in an accounting role is preferred, but consideration will also be given to new graduates that have a strong interest in the CPA program
• Financial experience in a multi-company environment is an asset
• Strong technical skills with advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Office Suite
• Experience and proficiency with Jonas software is an asset
• Proven attention to detail with a thorough and meticulous work ethic
• Professional, organized with superior communication skills
• Multi-tasker with ability to meet deadlines & prioritize tasks, and works well under pressure
