Job description: Location: Brampton, OntarioJob Description:Job Summary: This role will support the Night Shift, however will be cross trained in other departments. This position is responsible for leading and managing a team of warehouse workers in a fast-paced environment to achieve required productivity, safety and budget objectives.Shift timing: 10:00pm – 6:30amWhat you will be doing:Under the guidance of the Warehouse Supervisor, you will:

  • Maintain a positive attitude and promote high team moral while focusing on inventory control, health & safety, employee performance
  • Responsible for developing, training and mentoring team members to enhance distribution center and Pet Valu business knowledge.
  • Promote a culture of safety at every opportunity with employees. Ensure safety procedures are being followed strictly and that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner
  • Manages continuous improvement projects and has an ability to react to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and timely completion of performance appraisals. Provides effective coaching and feedback on a regular basis to direct reports.
  • Supervise the daily work flow in the areas of order filling, picking, receiving and truck loading
  • Identify process improvements, increase efficiency and productivity to achieve budget targets and operational metrics
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure effective internal and external customer service
  • Ensure standard productivity and error standards are consistently met
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained daily at acceptable levels within the facility and around the building perimeter and shipping doors. Comply with infestation control program.
  • Ensure security of merchandise and property by adhering to all established policies, practices and procedures.

Job Qualifications:Experience and Education

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate under pressure and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong group presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate verbally and written
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Flexibility to work different and varied night time work schedule

Preferred:

  • Minimum two years supervisory experience
  • Material handling equipment experience
  • JHSC & first aid certification

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
