Job description: Job Description:About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use): 11The Team:The Data & Insight Distribution team consists of geographically diversified software engineers responsible for developing scalable solutions to generate content feeds for the overall Data Management Solutions platform. Currently, we have 5 agile teams working on Xpressfeed development and are looking to add multiple team members to help with the strong demand we are seeing from the business.Impact:We are constantly working to deliver new value to customers faster. Types of projects include backend database development, Tools to configure metadata driven system, Scaling into the cloud environment, new delivery platforms, and advanced performance tuning. You will enable S&P business to showcase our proprietary S&P Global data, combine it with “curated” data, further enrich it with value-add services and deliver it via the clients’ channel of choice to help them make better investment and business decisions, with confidence.What you can expect:We are a global company and a global team with a history of delivering high-value product feeds which drives over 500M in revenue for the S&P Global Market Intelligence division. You will get hands-on experience developing, deploying, and supporting the products, working on huge volumes of data. Being small agile teams, you will see the results of your development and feel the success of the business as you successfully deliver on projects. In addition, you will get to work with a highly knowledgeable and energetic team working to solve complex business problems in a fast, highly productive environment.Responsibilities:

  • Complete SDLC: architecture, design, development and support of tech solutions including release management.
  • Engineer components and common services based on standard corporate development models, languages and tools, develop data pipelines.
  • Produce system design documents and contribute to technical walkthroughs.
  • Active participation in all scrum ceremonies, follow AGILE best practices effectively.
  • Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Respond and resolve production issues, maintain production environments.
  • Coach and mentor junior developers on the team accordingly.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in database development or data engineering
  • Strong command of essential technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, T-SQL , SQL Server, Oracle, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, Python, Scala and Java
  • Experience writing complex and efficient SQL for relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle is essential.
  • Advanced knowledge in developing, performance tuning stored procedures and maintaining large dataset.
  • Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Scrum, Test-driven development.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with cloud technologies and managed services in AWS, GCP or Azure, Big Data and Analytics, NoSQL databases, NiFi, Airflow or Hive
