Manpower has an immediate opening for a Licensed Practical Nurse for our client located in Penticton, BC.Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, various shifts available (Day, Evening and Overnights)
Wage: $31.89 per hour or more (depending on seniority)What does the role offer you?

What is the job?

• Observe, monitor, document and update information about residents’ physical and psychological condition, care, and nursing procedures.
• Provide and assist with personal care to residents as required.
• Support emergency staff scheduling, as required.
• Ensure adherence to Infection Control Practices and provide education as required for Outbreak and basic infection control practices.
• Differentiating between normal and abnormal physical findings of residents.
• Recognizing deviations from mental health baseline, differentiating between dementia and delirium of residents.
• Assessing and monitoring residents’ current and potential strengths and limitations including physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs.
• Taking appropriate action such as consulting with the primary physician or making referral to the Mental Health Team.

What do you bring to the job?

• Graduation from a recognized Practical Nurses program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience recognized by the BCCNP.
• Registered with BCCNM as an LPN.
• Current and up-to-date Valid First Aid.
• Gerontological experience preferred.
• MDS education (Gold Care or Point Click Care).
• 1-2 years’ experience in a complex care site is preferred.
