Build and advance your career by joining a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to excellence in support of senators and the institution.How will you contribute?The Manager, Financial Policy, Planning and Corporate Reporting is accountable for providing strategic leadership to the development and implementation of Senate financial accounting policies (including those of the central agencies of the government when they apply to the Senate), as well as being accountable for the development of internal controls and quality assurance processes to monitor financial risk and ensure compliance with Senate rules and policies. The position is responsible for developing, monitoring and implementing guidelines, standards, processes and procedures to guide the short and long-term planning and management of the Senate’s financial resources. The incumbent is also responsible for providing strategic guidance on financial planning and resource management matters as well as advising and informing senior management on evolving financial management occurrences and emerging issues.   • Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with specialization in accounting and possession of a recognized professional accounting designation, e.g. Certified Professional Accountant (CPA);
  • Extensive experience in financial planning, budgeting and advisory services to management teams, as well as in the development and implementation of financial policies and controls;
  • Experience in preparing briefing material to senior management on a broad range of questions related to financial matters;
  • Experience in providing strategic and operational advice and expertise in matters of financial management to manager;
  • Experience in the interpretation, providing advice and bringing into force financial policies;
  • Experience in managing a team of financial professionals;
  • Experience in leading the preparation of audited financial statements and public accounts;
  • Experience in preparing budgets, estimates and corporate financial reports;
  • Experience in using Unit4 corporate financial system and Caseware for the production of the audited financial statements is an asset;
  • Experience in the finance field of a Parliamentary Institution is an asset.
