We endure any condition, observe every detail, and are building a community that believes in living bravely and coming together to support game-changing people.Here, opportunities are everywhere – to try something new, to learn, to do meaningful and impactful work, and they’re yours for the taking.Job DescriptionAs a key member of the team reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting, you will help prepare the company’s external financial reports, including quarterly and annual financial statements, Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), and securities filings for both Canada and the United States. You will collaborate with your Finance Department colleagues on various accounting entries, such as lease accounting, conduct technical accounting analyses, and contribute to maintaining a robust internal control structure.What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual external Financial Statements, MD&A and securities filings in Canada and the United States, including preparation of note disclosures and accompanying support
  • Review of Financial Statements and reports that meet all regulatory and accounting guidelines
  • Preparation of required quarterly and annual filings with the OSC and SEC
  • Participate in quarterly reviews and annual year-end audit of Financial Statements
  • Responsible for lease accounting and analysis, providing support for Canada Goose’s global lease portfolio
  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly Financial Statements and certain accounting entries and account reconciliations, including the following areas:
  • Lease accounting
  • Long-term debt
  • Derivatives and hedge accounting
  • Execute internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes, and procedures
  • Support new systems or project selections and implementation from a strategic finance and internal control perspective
  • Subject matter expert on IFRS, with a focus on providing advice and guidance on all technical accounting matters and preparation of documentation on the accounting assessment
  • Implementation of new IFRS standards as applicable

QualificationsLet’s Talk About You:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required with Chartered Accountant (CA) focus
  • 6+ years of professional accounting experience including public practice
  • Big 4 experience
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS, preferred in the following areas: lease accounting, hedge accounting, stock-based compensation, impairment and business combinations.
  • Experience in the consumer goods industry, retail or manufacturing a definite asset
  • Experience working in publicly traded companies listed in Canada and the United States, or experience working in private companies with regimented reporting requirements
  • Working within an internal control reporting framework preferred, preferably COSO
