This position provides training and support to all corporate departments, supports internal inventory, condition assessments, maintenance processes, capital renewal programs and asset management reporting. The Manager of Asset Management identifies and implements technological solutions to meet departmental business objectives and asset management initiatives, as well was evaluates infrastructure capacity to meet current and future demands.Work Performed:
- Maintain condition and risk assessment data for all municipal infrastructure service assets.
- Establish condition indices for assets based on inspections and maintenance/repair history.
- Work with departments to inspect, record, and initiate epairs or replacements to ensure safe and uninterrupted services.
- Identify critical assets and recommend prioritization of repairs or capital works.
- Recommend annual and long-term capital project plans based on optimal ROI.
- Collect, organize, analyze, and maintain datasets for infrastructure assets.
- Prepare asset valuation reports and support financial reporting for capital project accounting.
- Review and appraise existing business processes and recommend business process reengineering services.
- Identify needs to configure work management systems to capture resource utilization and develop KPIs.
- Monitor water system losses, inflow and infiltration and formulate work programs to control operational losses.
- Evaluate and implement innovative repair methods and technologies.
- Participate in the development of infrastructure system master plans.
- Distribute infrastructure inventory condition assessments to stakeholders.
- Manage and administer specialized asset condition assessment and external data collection contracts.
- Provide technical guidance on computing technologies.
- Author information reports and presentations for Council.
- Represent the City at various industry and public forums.
- Update the corporate Asset Management Plan as per Ontario regulations.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- University Degree in Engineering or related field. Must be a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng) or Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or possess equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in asset management, infrastructure planning, and business process reengineering.
Specialized Skills, Abilities, Training, License, Memberships, or Certifications
- Project Management Professional Certification is preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop complex data models and algorithms.
- Expertise in business process re-engineering and legislative requirements.
- High level of expertise in computerized business systems, analysis tools, databases, and GIS technologies.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, and coaching abilities.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills.
- Effective communication and report writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in managing large datasets and performing detailed analysis.
