Job description: Worker Type: EmployeeGroup: Workplace DepartmentJob Post End Date: 10/02/2024About this opportunity:As part of the Workplace and Real Estate team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Workplace, the Manager, Planning Design & Construction (PD&C) will safely create and optimize new and existing working environments in North America. Enable Cenovus staff to safely perform their best work using workspaces and workplace infrastructure, while maintaining optimal flexibility to meet evolving business requirements. The successful candidate will represent Workplace and Real Estate on Cenovus acquisitions and divestitures projects and provide governance and oversight of workplace design and space allocation standards for head office, regional and field offices in Canada and US.What you’ll do:Accountable for enterprise-wide space planning and process for all non-operational office assets and locationsConsult with leaders to identify workplace solutions that enable staff to perform their best work, while maintaining key proximity principles and overall design standardsProject manage workplace improvement initiatives, coordinate and oversee the work of vendors, business partners and contractorsPartner with key enabling functions in HR, Security, Wellness, Communications, IT, Supply Chain Management; Workplace and Real Estate and Field teams to plan and execute on workplace initiativesParticipate in building critical 24/7 on-call program for Calgary office workspaceProvide planning, design and execution for office-based construction and renovation projects (including project management, schedules, deliverables, budget reporting, communications)Develop viable solutions to space delivery through consultation with landlords, design consultants, engineers, and contractorsLead the Planning, Design and Construction team, including design, construction, space planning staff, contractors and service providersProvide leadership to direct reports through coaching, training, objective setting, provide ongoing feedback, and recognize the link between individual and organizational successDevelop key performance indicators and dashboard to provide data-based performance decisions to optimize cost and business results and manage Canada capital and G&A Workplace budgetsAssess workspace infrastructure requirements at sites and development of five-year opex and capex plansManage oversight of Workplace construction and decommissioning projects including managing turnover and acceptance expectations, budgets, and reporting ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectivelyDevelop and implement change management plans for impacted team members and staff to mitigate people-related risks to ensure projects are adopted, applied, and sustained operationallyAccountable for safety practices through targeted initiatives, including roles and responsibilities clarification, training profile development, safety leadership capability introduction, COIMS gap assessment, HSE data health enhancement, risk register awareness, and contractor management alignmentWho you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:Legally eligible to work in CanadaBachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Business, Project Management, or equivalent Facilities related work experiencePMP, CFM, FMP, LEED AP, WELL AP or other recognized certification/membership is considered an asset12+ years’ experience leading commercial construction and space planning projects, workplace operations, or closely related function and 10+ years’ experience in leading people with a proven track record of successfully supervising, developing, and mentoring staffOutstanding collaborator engagement skill that aligns with strategic planning and communication experienceExperience partnering with procurement processing for construction, design, furniture procurement suppliers and services, including assisting in the evaluation of RFP’s, tender bidsDetailed knowledge of building code regulations and safety codes, safety processes and proceduresGood project management skills with ability to balance multiple projects/tasks across various teamsDemonstrated successful change management planning and executionManaged large capital and operating expense budgetsAble to build, steward and plan both OPEX and Capital budgets across multiple lines of businessWe acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT October 1st, 2024.If you require accessibility assistance to complete the on-line application or otherwise apply for an open position with Cenovus, its subsidiaries and affiliates, please email .Internal candidates that are currently in a lower grade will be assessed based on their sustained job performance, how they demonstrate the expected organizational competency behaviors and values and in discussions with their current leader prior to determining next steps.Who we are:We’re an integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary with oil and natural gas production operations in Canada and the Asia Pacific region, and upgrading, refining and marketing operations in Canada and the United States.
