Working for Pembina means working safely.Overview:Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Marketing Business Unit (MBU), provides strategic direction and commercial execution in areas involving supply, marketing, trading and market development.The Marketing Business Unit (MBU), undertakes value-add commodity marketing activities, including buying and selling products (natural gas, ethane, propane, butane, condensate and crude oil), capitalizing on storage opportunities, and contracting capacity on pipelines, rail and marine. Marketing activities also include identifying commercial opportunities to further develop other Pembina assets.The Marketing Business Unit (MBU), is searching for an Accountant, Crude Oil Marketing. Reporting to the Manager, Crude and Power Accounting the successful candidate will be a key member of the team contributing to Pembina’s growth and strategy.Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Generate monthly settlement invoicing in accordance with contractual terms.
  • Preparation of working papers to support the posting of manual accruals.
  • Execution of systems checklists to ensure data hygiene.
  • Work collaboratively with other groups in preparation of settlement day volume allocations and quality data.
  • Liaise with key members of the Business Unit including Contracts, Logistics, Business Development and Commercial Services to ensure the accuracy of invoices.
  • Communicate and collaborate with customers to address queries for price confirmations and invoices.
  • Maintain internal control processes and documentation.
  • Retrieve shipper balances and producer working interest owner splits from Petrotranz for monthly volume allocations and invoicing.
  • Process and code monthly invoices as needed.
  • Participate in various business and system projects as required.
  • Assist with prior period amendments and audit queries as needed.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of accounts receivable.

Qualifications:

  • A passion for Accounting, and possess either an Accounting designation or an interest in pursuing an Accounting designation;
  • A post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration or similar disciplines;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and dead-line driven environment;
  • Strong knowledge of all MS Office tools, particularly Excel;
  • Motivated self-starter who performs well independently and within a team environment;
  • Ability to adapt effectively to changing priorities;
  • Organized, detailed, analytical and able to consistently deliver accurate and timely information;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interface positively and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate results while meeting rigid deadlines;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and solid team player.

Not required but may be considered an asset;

  • Experience with SAP and RightAngle; and
  • Experience in oil and gas, and specifically midstream/pipeline industry.
