  • Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a valid work permit.
  • If you are selected for a role considered safety-sensitive, you will be required to successfully complete a Medical and/or Alcohol and drug test.

Students are also required to submit a cover letter and recent transcripts. The cover letter will address the following questions:

Note: Applications must have a recent transcript to be considered.Your Opportunity at SECURE EnergyAs our Summer Student – Marketing & Production Accounting you will be responsible for supporting the Marketing & Production Accounting team with various deadlines throughout the month. It is essential that all deadlines are met for monthly invoicing, payments, volumetric reporting and financial reporting.This role is based out of the Calgary Brookfield office on a full-time, Monday to Friday schedule.The TeamThe Marketing & Production Accounting teams work closely with both internal and external counterparties to ensure all processes are completed accurately and timely throughout the month.A Day in The LifeThe responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage our SES Marketing Accounting inbox
  • Logging into Third Party Websites to save Shippers Balances and Invoices monthly
  • Checking and coding Butane Trucking invoices in Open Invoice and updating Butane Deliveries Sheet
  • Monthly NOS Accrual Volume mapping in Egistix Open for various facilities
  • Monthly Preparing split upload files and mapping in Egistix Open for various facilities
  • Monthly entering Fees, Manual Adj and Diluent Fees into Egistix
  • Monthly prepare and send required Invoices
  • Updating Trucking Reconciliation file with monthly GL information
  • Assist in preparing the Actual models and reconciling to the Cash Rec
  • Assist Production Accounting with various monthly processes as required
  • Assist in data cleanup or Process Documentation projects for Marketing and Production Accounting as required

Skills, Experience, & Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in a post-secondary program in Accounting or Business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel is an asset.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and handle changing priorities.
