Job DescriptionBrief Overview:The MEP Coordinator will report into the Building Systems Manager and will provide overall support to the project and assists the project team with overall project performance including costs, schedule, quality, and project status.Responsibilities:
- Attend weekly design meetings and assist in the design process.
- Schedule design submissions to be reviewed by the Building Systems Manager prior to formal submissions.
- Responsible to prequalify bidders and advise the candidates of the project in general, the nature of the upcoming scope, relevant milestone dates.
- Arrange internal scope review meetings and compile scopes for each tender package.
- Arrange bid review meetings with the running up bidders and prepare a bid recap sheet.
- Finalize and issue subcontracts on a timely manner.
- Responsible to mentor and guide their Field Engineers who are involved in the day-to-day coordination of their subcontractors.
- Follow up with trades on all the submission requirements, answer and/or route RFI’s and SDS’s to the consultants and keep all contract documents up to date for the field staff with the document controllers.
- Prepare and communicate a mutually agreed billing breakdown to accounting.
- Monitor documents necessary for the close-out process.
QualificationsRequired:
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical & Electrical along with 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Understanding of construction methodology, including development, contracting, and consulting.
- Thorough understanding of trade and product knowledge.
- Previous experience on commercial/ industrial/ residential construction building projects.
- Technical Savvy – Exceptional working knowledge of Microsoft office software including Excel, Word, Outlook
- Thorough understanding of construction terminology
- Well established communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group of teams (subtrades, clients, inspectors, consultants, colleagues, engineers, etc.)
- Must be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to handle pressure and can manage shifting priorities
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
Desired:
- Possess a valid Driver License and own vehicle
- Experience working with Procore and Microsoft SharePoint
- Be willing to “Do what it takes”
- Can Take control of situations and follow them through to completion
