Job description: MP&L Manager (Materials, Planning, and Logistics Manager)Our manufacturing client in Calgary is searching for a strategic, results-driven MP&L Manager to oversee all materials, planning, and logistics functions for a new air handling unit production facility. This position is pivotal in establishing, optimizing, and scaling supply chain operations within a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in materials management, production planning, and logistics coordination, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of plant start-up operations and the ability to implement new product lines into existing processes.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Lead the setup of MP&L processes, systems, and infrastructure for a new manufacturing facility.
• Ensure supply chain readiness for production launch through cross-functional collaboration.
• Establish inventory control, material flow, and logistics strategies tailored to start-up operations.
• Oversee inbound/outbound material flow, warehousing, and material handling to meet production needs.
• Maintain inventory accuracy via cycle counts, audits, and system controls.
• Develop and manage production schedules aligned with demand, capacity, and material availability.
• Optimize scheduling with production and engineering teams to reduce downtime.
• Adjust plans to address demand shifts, supply issues, or operational changes.
• Monitor inventory performance, report to the Plant Manager, and mitigate inventory risks.
• Drive cost reduction and efficiency improvements across the supply chain.
• Build and lead a high-performing MP&L team (up to 6 reports)
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles and 80/20 methodology.
• Track KPIs and take corrective actions to improve cost, efficiency, and service levels.

Your strengths include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering or a related field
• APICS CPIM, CSCP, or other supply chain certification strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in materials, planning, and logistics roles within manufacturing (HVAC or industrial equipment preferred).
• 3 years of MP&L Manager, Materials Manager or equivalent experience
• Proven success in leading MP&L functions in a plant start-up or high-growth environment.
• ERP Expertise with Infor Visual is considered a strong asset.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, 80/20 principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
