Description – ExternalCome join our fantastic and growing team in Nova Scotia! We are looking for part-time, casual and/or full-time occupational therapist independent contractors to assist us with a NEW innovative community-based program. We are seeking therapists who bring passion to their role, enthusiasm, willingness to explore diverse opportunities, and desire to make a difference to the clients they serve. The Occupational Therapist, under the direction of the Manager of Rehabilitation is responsible for activities that include: assessment, treatment, education and supervision of rehab assistants in accordance with professional standards. Your main goal is to focus on keeping patients safe and well in their homes.Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assessment of clients in their home environment, establishment and ongoing evaluation of treatment programs, including setting goals and discharge plans.
  • Maintains current accurate clinical records according to standards set by the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia and Bayshore Therapy & Rehab’s policies.
  • Collaborates with other members of the health care team as needed.
  • Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients/caregivers and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
  • Oversees rehab assistants and/or caregivers supporting the treatment program and provides guidance as necessary.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintains active standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia.
  • Maintains professional liability insurance
  • Participates in ongoing internal and/or external education activities
  • Adheres to Bayshore Therapy & Rehab Policies and Procedures
  • Participates in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company’s Quality Management System
  • Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
  • Completes other tasks as requested
  • Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle

QualificationsQualifications – ExternalEducation
Masters Degree or recognized equivalent in Occupational Therapy. Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia.Experience
Preference of three years providing occupational therapy services, however new grads welcome! Experience with in-home community assessments and treatment an asset; experience working with the geriatric population an asset.What you can expect:
