Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Manager, Community Transitions, the Occupational Therapist provides consultation, assessment, treatment and follow-up of clients in the occupational performance areas of self-care, productivity and leisure for clients in the community throughout Central Zone of Nova Scotia Health. The objectives of treatment are to facilitate, restore and/or maintain clients’ optimal level of function. The Occupational Therapist provides intervention to address clients’ occupational performance components (physical, cognitive and/or affective). The Occupational Therapist provides education and support to clients, families and caregivers. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are required. The Occupational Therapist is a member of the Community Occupational Therapy – Physiotherapy Team and liaises with Continuing Care, multidisciplinary hospital care teams and community agencies and service providers.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of a C.A.O.T recognized School of Occupational Therapy
- Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience practicing as an Occupational Therapist
- Community experience is preferred
- Maintain current certification in CPR
- BLS-C (HCP) Certification
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required for home/community visits
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
