Some Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate leadership by emphasizing a culture of safety and focus on continuous improvement.
- Manage full cycle project execution, from to start-up and execution, through to close out of the project.
- Be accountable for project performance through continuous review of schedules, production metrics and project KPIs.
- Manage financial aspects of the project, including forecasting and billing.
- Lead, mentor and coach project team members emphasizing teamwork and an inclusive work environment.
- Prioritize client relationships to ensure confidence their projects will be constructed on time and on budget.
Job RequirementsQualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role, of which 5 or more years’ experience are on projects managed in value of $15M or greater.
- Civil, Mining, Structural Engineering diploma or related technical degree preferred.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and evolving priorities.
- A detailed understanding of all aspects of HEAVY civil earthwork construction: technology, equipment, materials, bid management, claims management and safety.
- Experience with multi-rate type contracts which include lump sum, time and material, unit rate.
- Experience with drill and blast and/or hard rock mining a desired skill set.
- Ability to to travel to various project sites possibly with short notice and/or for extended periods of time.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; exemplary soft skills essential.
- Excellent written skills for planning, execution, and internal and external reporting.
- Experience in JD Edwards, Primavera P6 and / or MS projects is an asset.
