Job description: Holz Constructors Incorporated is looking for an Engineer to improve, develop and support its
operations and logistics processes and systems as it supplies and installs prefabricated closed
panel walls and mechanical pods to commercial and residential construction projects.
We are a leading, growing, innovative prefab/modular construction company located in Winnipeg,
Manitoba that takes great pride in the impact we have in the construction industry. We have built
many award-winning projects. We also try to build in ways that respect the earth and its resources.
We are looking to continue building our team and significantly grow our business.
Along with the Engineer for Special Projects this position will focus on operational excellence and
continuous improvement of both shop and site operations, this position will include a large scope
of responsibilities and projects. This will include:
- The creation of daily, weekly and monthly performance metrics related to quality, e iciency,
cost (material, labour, shipping/transport), schedule compliance/on-time, and
health/safety.
- Steady development and improvement of production and logistics processes and systems.
- Formalized and structured continuous improvement methodology, based on best practice
- Problem solving and project management.
This mission-critical role will report directly to the President and has the potential for growth as the
company continues to grow.
Role Description
Development/implementation of metrics
Lead Continuous improvement of products and processes.
Communicate with and support all levels of the operation.
Source products/materials, to facilitate customer requirements and/or product improvements.
Coordinate data collection for analysis and improvement.
Work with the Special Projects Engineer to advance the Company’s use and understanding of
technology.
Connect the Company to the Engineering community
Report progress regularly to the President.
Aid in the hiring and management of engineering co-op students.
Other responsibilities as required.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Accredited Engineering Degree from a Canadian University.
Membership in or Eligibility for membership in Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (P.Eng or E.I.T)
Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
Highly systematic and process oriented by nature
Strong IT aptitude and orientation
Some experience in a manufacturing setting and a general understanding of Lean Manufacturing
Concepts.
Energetic, creative, quick thinker
Interest in leading cross functional teams in product and process improvements projects. (These
teams may include any combination of Management, Shop and Site personnel, Detailer,
Environmental Designer, Accountant, Engineer, Suppliers, Consultants and/or Sales)
Proficient in Microsoft O ice programs.
Ability to prioritize while managing multiple projects on the go.
P.Eng. designation and PMP certification are considered an asset.
