Your future starts now at Empower Simcoe!We are presently accepting resumes for a number of Permanent Part-Time Support Worker to work on in our group homes in Barrie.Compensation Package:These positions will be assigned to our permanent day line working up to 59.5 hours bi-weekly between the hours of 7am and 8pm with shift lengths either 10, 11 or 12 hours (i.e. 7am to 6pm or 8am to 6pm or 7am to 7pm etc.).
- Additional hours may be available with a minimum rate of pay of $25.32/hour;
- 11 paid Statutory Holidays;

Following the successful completion of probation:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a completed Degree or Diploma from an accredited college or university in the Human Services field (including, but not limited to: Developmental Service Worker, Social Service Worker, Child and Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Social Work, etc.);
- When submitting your resume and cover letter, please also upload a copy of your diplomas / degrees. In your resume, please ensure that you specify the length of your programs;
- Candidates who have a completed Degree or Diploma from an accredited college or university in an unrelated field must have 2 years full-time work experience directly supporting people;
- Availability for days, weekends, and statutory holidays;
- As a condition of hire, candidates must be willing to provide a current, clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening and a pre-employment medical;
- A valid “Class G” driver’s license and reliable transportation are considered an asset.
Role/Duties:Our Direct Support Workers provide support to individuals with intellectual disabilities with all aspects of daily living within a group home setting. Responsibilities may include providing support during overnight shifts, personal care, household duties, meal preparation and finances.
