Job description: Job DescriptionWe’re currently seeking a meticulous Payroll Clerk to join our client’s team in Dartmouth, NS. In this role, the successful candidate will contribute to a busy payroll unit to ensure efficient and accurate processing while performing payroll accounting tasks such as reconciliations and analysis. This is a contract opportunity, ideal for someone with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and adapt, and immediate availability.Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Verifying and processing large quantities of payroll data
• Payroll journal entries and adjustments
• Reconciliations and balancing
• Review and develop payroll processes and efficiencies
• Assisting with various payroll, accounting & HR initiatives
• Other related duties as required

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Post-secondary education/training in payroll, accounting, and/or administration with a bookkeeping/payroll component
• Minimum 1 year payroll processing experience in a comparable role
• Previous experience with ADP payroll software is a definite asset
• Quick learner with a hands-on and dedicated work ethic
• Superior attention to detail with the ability to investigate discrepancies, ensuring items match accurately
• Strong critical thinking skills with the a curious and thorough approach
• Proven success in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Positive and engaged attitude with a willingness to contribute and continually learn
