If you feel like this would be a good fit for your personality and career ambition, we encourage you to apply!About the facility: Elder Catherine Charles Long-term Care Home is responsible for the provision of quality care to clients by providing personal care and respite assistance to clients based on their assessed needs. This is a 24 – hour, 365 days’ facility that provides level 1, 2 and 3 care to residents admitted into the facility. The main goals are to provide direct care and monitor residents’ health conditions.About the position: Working 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule, Personal Care Workers support and supervise individuals with physical abilities; use a team approach to plan, organize and supervise daily activities; prepare and serve meals as planned; administer prescribed medications;Duties:
- Support and supervise elderly individuals;
- Use a team approach to plan, organize and supervise daily activities, recreational and other services;
- Prepare and serve meals as planned;
- Assess needs of residents on an on-going basis;
- Maintain sanitation of Long-term Care Home;
- 12- hour shift with rotating schedule (Overtime may be required);
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor;
Qualifications:
- Grade 12; combination of education and experience may be considered;
- Continuing Care Aide Certificate,, Personal Care Worker Certificate or Home Health Aide certificate required;
- Certified First Aide & CPR and Safe Food Handling Certificate required or willing to obtain;
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with the Group home team, and demonstrate strong organizational skills;
- Strong Written and verbal communication;
- Previous home care or childcare experience is an asset;
- Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset;
- Must Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
- Ability to speak/understand Cree is a definite asset;
