Job description: Pharmacy Assistant / Health Care Program Assistant:This position combines the roles of a Health Care Program Assistant and a Pharmacy Assistant. The Health Care Program Assistant acts as a single point of contact resource in communicating with health care practitioners and patients. This position delivers seamless, high-quality service and support to patients and physicians through assistance with private and provincial drug plan navigation.Health Care Program Assistant Duties:
- Liaise with assigned health care practitioners (HCPs) and report to those HCPs on the status of assigned patients.
- Complete and coordinate reimbursement navigation and administrative services on behalf of patients with public and private payers, including management of prior authorizations under the supervision of Pharmacists.
- Provide exemplary customer service, especially via phone.
- Create and maintain accurate patient records
- Enter data accurately into various systems
Pharmacy Assistant Job Duties:
- Under direct supervision of licensed pharmacist, assist with the dispensing of prescription medication and other medical products to patients
- Package and label medications for distribution, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and organize medication orders for delivery to patients and healthcare facilities
- Perform administrative duties, including answering phones, receiving and inputting prescription orders, operating cash registers
- Liaise with healthcare providers and patients to obtain and verify prescription information
- Manage and update inventory, including ordering and restocking medications and supplies
Qualifications
- Previous work experience in community pharmacy is strongly preferred
- Proficient in Kroll Pharmacy Software preferred
- Strong communication skills, excellent telephone etiquette, a keen eye for accuracy and the ability to quickly evaluate and respond to an array of inquiries
- Knowledge of Canadian drug reimbursement landscape considered an asset
- Knowledge of computer environments and basic computer programs (MS Office, Google).
- Ability to organize workflow and manage time effectively to meet client and customer deadlines with accurate transaction and process documentation.
- Capacity to work in a team environment and support co-workers.
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: $20.00-$25.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:
