Formed from the integration of corporate development and operations support, our North American wide team of engineering and technological subject matter experts are here to provide solutions and results-oriented recommendations to our operational teams. From preconstruction and pursuits to planning, engineering, technology and lean innovations, our SMEs are available to equip you with the tools to serve our clients and deliver profitable projects.The planning, scheduling and lean group of ICS work with operations groups to build on the culture at PCL by proving the return of time spent on planning, scheduling, and lean knowledge. Through training and engagement set higher standards and support districts and individuals to reach those standards.Here’s how a Planning and Scheduling Coordinator for our Edmonton NAHQ office contributes to our team:Responsibilities
- Provides training and manage environments for P6 scheduling software (existing experience an asset but not required), including end user support, testing, and documentation.
- Supports PCL software applications for the Planning, Scheduling, and Lean processes, including document organization and training.
- Tests and evaluates new software solutions, including developing adoption plans and training.
- Supports district champions and chair meetings.
- Organizes Planning, Scheduling, and Lean user group events.
- Assists with department coordination and documentation.
- Travels to operational districts as required to provide project support and training.
- Performs other related responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
- Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred.
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work well and collaborate with a close-knit group of construction services subject matter experts who guide, mentor, and train project and district teams throughout North America.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to quickly learn new software solutions.
- Strong skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, building material and required standards applicable by discipline.
- Experience in construction scheduling is an asset.
- Experience with P6 or P6 EPPM is an asset.
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with operational districts and applicable champions.
- Travel expectations: up to 20% throughout North America
