Job description: Job DescriptionOur Client is a leading Manufacturing provider based in Calgary, Alberta and they are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Plant Controller to join the team. As the Plant Controller, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations and reporting of the business. In addition to the hands-on financial functions the role also includes input on operational structure and efficiencies for the business as they continue to grow.Key Responsibilities
- Manage finance and accounting activities and functions, to include cost accounting, financial accounting, payables, receivables, billing and payroll
- Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and recommend, implement and maintain internal controls
- Identify corporate risk, make recommendations and drive implementation of policies to manage such risk
- Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings, and preparation of financial statements
- Monitor and provide financial analysis/reports on working capital and fixed assets
- Drive the annual budget process for the Senior Managers and departments to operate effectively
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Knowledge and experience with GAAP, cost accounting and ERP
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting with at least 7 years of experience
- Financial modeling and analysts experience is considered an asset
- Demonstrated successful responsibility managing external auditing process
- A recognized Commerce or Accounting degree or equivalent alongside a CPA designation
- Proven knowledge and experience working with standard costing and/or activity based costing in a manufacturing environment
