A private equity-backed manufacturing company with significant U.S. and international operations is seeking a hands-on Plant Controller to oversee two production facilities located the Western Chicago Suburbs. This role offers full financial ownership of both plants and serves as a key business partner to operations, sales, and regional finance leadership.The organization is in growth mode with a history of acquisitions and potential for advancement as strategic corporate functions shift to the Chicagoland area.Ideal Background:
This role is suited for a seasoned Sr. cost accountant or plant controller with manufacturing experience and strong ERP fluency. Prior experience with IQMS or Oracle is a plus.Position SummaryThe Plant Controller provides financial leadership and decision-support for plant operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and sound financial planning. This is a hands-on role requiring deep involvement in daily accounting, cost analysis, and forecasting, along with the ability to influence operational efficiency and support strategic initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesFull ownership of daily/month-end accounting activities: journal entries, reconciliations, and system transactionsRegular financial reporting and plant-level financial analysisOversee costing and quoting processes in collaboration with Sales, Ops, and Regional FinanceLead annual budgeting and monthly forecasting for both locationsSupport internal control and compliance activitiesAnalyze standard labor and material costs, including variance reportingRespond to internal/external audit requestsSupport CapEx and other operational initiatives with financial analysisParticipate in continuous improvement efforts and ad hoc projects as neededQualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredExperience:5+ years of relevant finance/accounting experience in a manufacturing environmentPlant-level or multi-site experience preferredSkills:Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detailAdvanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft OfficeExperience with ERP systems (IQMS and/or Oracle preferred)Ability to work independently and take full ownership of responsibilitiesProven ability to meet deadlines and manage competing prioritiesStrong communication and collaboration skillsAdditional Notes:

Expected salary: $100000 – 130000 per year
