Job description: Job DescriptionOur client, a reputable organization in the education sector, is currently seeking a Procurement Clerk for their Dartmouth, NS office. This is a contract opportunity for 4 – 6 months to support day-to-day operations during a busy transition period marked by the initiation of several new programs.Reporting to the Procurement Supervisor, you will be required to adhere to strict policies and procedures while ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services. Primary duties will include:

  • Process purchase orders
  • Collaborate with various departments while preparing requests for proposals
  • Ensure all PO’s are authorized and recorded
  • Monitor contracts and vendor performance
  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers as instructed by management
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, conducting inventory audits as needed
  • Maintain up to date records and files

As the ideal candidate, you have a post-secondary education at the university level, a strong understanding of procurement processes, and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.With a superior eye for detail, you possess strong decision-making skills and exercise good judgment. You excel in a team oriented, deadline driven environment and have a demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality while handling sensitive issues.
