They are currently seeking a Production Accountant to join their growing team and contribute to their success.We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Production Accountant to join our team in the Oil & Gas industry. The Production Accountant will be responsible for overseeing, analyzing, and reporting on production data to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, manage financial reporting for production activities, and assist in optimizing revenue reporting processes. This position is critical to the financial operations of our organization, working closely with field operations, finance, and regulatory teams to ensure accurate and timely data reporting.KEY RESPONSIBIITIES
- Production Reporting & Analysis
- Collect, verify, and process daily production data from multiple field locations.
- Ensure accuracy in production volumes, allocations, and inventory levels in production accounting software.
- Prepare and submit monthly production and sales reports to regulatory bodies in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Financial Accounting & Reconciliation
- Reconcile production volumes and revenue data with the general ledger.
- Coordinate with the finance team to manage and analyze variances between reported and actual production volumes.
- Assist in accrual preparation and monthly journal entries related to production activities.
- Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
- Stay current with regulatory requirements and ensure compliance in all production reporting activities.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, prepare mandatory reports, and respond to audits and inquiries as required
- Revenue Reporting & Analysis
- Calculate and verify royalties, taxes, and other deductions based on production and sales.
- Prepare monthly revenue statements and assist in optimizing revenue accounting processes.
- Work closely with land, legal, and finance teams to address discrepancies and optimize revenue distribution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-5 years of full-cycle production accounting experience with Alberta or BC oil and gas properties.
- Experience with large gas plants and complex, interconnected delivery systems.
- Experience in Metrix and Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and other advanced functions.
- Familiarity with ProdView, Pro-Monitor, Pro-Tend, and LandRite is an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a self-starter mentality and team-oriented approach.
- Canadian Association of Petroleum Production Accounting (CAPPA) certification is required.
- A degree or diploma in Accounting or Business is an asset.
