Duration: Full-time, TemporaryPosition SummaryThe Project Accountant – Turnaround will configure and train on the E-LEM system to track contractor hours and spending for the 2025 Turnaround. They will also update financial models and prepare reports for the Turnaround Finance Lead.Position Responsibilities

  • Develop budget estimates, prepare forecasts, and update budget/forecast tracking in line with project Authorization for Expenditure.
  • Highlight constraints, track overspending, and prepare daily financial reports for the Turnaround Finance Lead.
  • Maintain internal schedules, project timelines, and key project documents like charters and risk assessments.
  • Configure, test, and track E-LEM data, ensuring accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Extract E-LEM data from ATOM software, validate incoming data, and transfer raw data into financial models.
  • Ensure financial forecast accuracy through EVM analysis and assist project leads with forecasting.
  • Assist in training project leads, contractors, and stakeholders on the E-LEM system, addressing inquiries and providing guidance.
  • Work with the Turnaround Finance Lead, project leads, and contractors on financial processes, data transfer, and system improvements.
  • Identify enhancements to the E-LEM system and develop procedures for integrating financial reports.
  • Conduct business in alignment with Methanex values, Responsible Care® ethics, and corporate vision.
  • Address additional tasks and requests from the Turnaround Finance Lead while maintaining ongoing communication about project status.

Position QualificationsExperience, Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Currently enrolled in or completed an undergraduate degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent combination of relevant certification and experience.
  • Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide insightful financial assessments.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher) and Adobe Photoshop, with the ability to leverage software for reporting and presentations.
