We value people above all else and the experiences of our patients and their families, our team members, and our partners are at the very top of our agenda.Through our values of CARE; TRUST AND BE TRUSTWORTHY; COURAGE TO START, HEART TO FINISH and WELCOME ONE TO WELCOME ALL we leverage the collective talents and strengths of our GRH team, our community, and our partners to innovate and accelerate the transformation of health care delivery.We currently have an opportunity for a Permanent Full-Time Project Coordinator, Construction in the Facilities Management.Monday-Friday, 0800-1600, flexibility of work hours is expectedMust be available for the assignment of on-call responsibilities in order to respond to and resolve after hours emergencies as they arise.How Project Coordinator support our teams at Grand River Hospital:Reporting to the Director, Facilities Management, the Project Coordinator, Construction will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert advice on building technology, design and construction processes and procedures to deliver the Hospital’s HIRF, upgrades, repair and maintenance projects. The Project Coordinator will also work collaboratively with the Planning & Redevelopment department to support Project Managers delivering Clinical Capital Projects as required and identified by the Director, Capital and Facilities Planning.PROJECT COORDINATION

  • · Ensure that the scope and implementation of HIRF, upgrade, repair and maintenance projects reflect the needs of Grand River Hospital while ensuring compliance with Building Codes, healthcare design standards and other relevant legislation.
  • · Represent Grand River Hospital during all phases of project implementation to ensure that the project remains on budget and on schedule, within given capabilities and authority.
  • · Work with the architects and engineers to review and approve the change control process and issue resolution process.
  • · Work with contractors to coordinate utility shut downs, access to the site for delivery of materials and compliance with Grand River Hospital policies and procedures.
  • · Ensure that all phases of the construction implementation projects are completed on time to ensure that the schedules are achieved; ensure necessary information is received in a timely manner from stakeholders and external consultants.
  • · Identify associated risks to the project; measure and analyze the impact of the risks and makes recommendations to mitigate the risks.

PROJECT FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  • · Work with the Director and Manager of Facilities Management to develop the project budget for small to medium projects
  • · Manage project budget including analysis of potential changes.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • · Works in compliance with the Health & Safety Act and its regulations in performing duties in a safe manner and follows all health and safety policies, procedures and legislation including wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required; ensures contractors follow all health and safety policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
  • · Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

At Grand River Hospital, the Project Coordinator has:

  • · Diploma in health administration, business management, project management, engineering, architecture, degree preferred.
  • · An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • · Minimum of three years of project management experience.
  • · Experience in reading and understanding construction plans and specifications.
  • · Experience in developing project budgets and schedules.
  • · Experience with project management software preferred.
  • · Demonstrated knowledge of building codes and other related codes, standards and legislation.
  • · Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including, ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy with diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • · Demonstrated effectiveness in identifying and analyzing situations and problems; finding viable solutions with consideration to total systems and strategies.
  • · Demonstrated understanding and commitment to health and safety policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
  • · Demonstrated effectiveness as a team member through collaboration, respect and effective communication.
  • · Intermediate level proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite of products (including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
