Our fast-paced environment is challenging yet rewarding and offers lots of variety.Reporting to the Manager, 1GX PMO Excellence (Program Management Office), as the Project Manager Analyst, you will provide support for 1GX projects, working with the 1GX team, service provider, and 1GX clients to plan, develop, and deliver major additions, enhancements, and re-engineering initiatives.In this role you will assist in the development and implementation of project management standards, processes, and best practices to ensure a consistent approach to project delivery & implementation across the 1GX, CoE. You will provide assistance to ensure1GX projects are on time, on budget, and are being managed and delivered in a consistent and transparent manner. Under the guidance of Senior Project Manager team members and the 1GX PMO Manager, you will provide project support to the planning phases of projects, including working with clients to define project scope; develop work plans and sequences of activities; determine resources; develop schedules and allocate resources; determine project reporting schedules; and determine objectives and measures upon which projects will be evaluated.Responsibilities:
Some of the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Senior Project Managers and the Manager, 1GX PMO, in the development and implementation of 1GX PMO processes and procedures.
  • Providing project management support for 1GX projects, in accordance with established project management practices and in alignment with GoA strategic direction and applicable policies, agreements and standards.
  • Providing support, and recommendations to management and mentorship to junior unit team members.
  • Consulting with stakeholders, including relevant Stream Business Community (HCM, Payroll, Finance, SCM, etc.), Business Analysts, and Service Managers, to assist in identifying impacts of business decisions and to help ensure that the business needs of the stakeholders are considered, and that issues and problems are addressed.

QualificationsRequired:

  • University graduation in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Technology or a related field.
  • No Experience required.
  • Project Management Certificate / working towards the certification. Or Project Management Professional designation (PMP) / working towards designation.

Equivalencies:
Equivalencies are considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Assets : Preference will be given to candidates with;

  • Experience in Project management.
  • Solid understanding of business and operational planning, performance measurement, and accountability frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of project planning and management methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience in resource management, risk analysis, controls, change and issues management, progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Knowledge of the project life cycle and project management life cycle, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control and close out processes for projects along with associated requirements and standards of ministry.
  • Understanding of the concepts of knowledge management, lessons learned, performance measures, risk management and best practices.
  • Experience in drafting correspondence such as Action Requests, briefing notes, and compiling research for executive management.
  • Experience in coordinating/ supporting the development of project business cases, business analysis, process models / maps, project definitions, and requests for proposals.
