Job description: Job Description:We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Property Accountant in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry. This role will involve the utilization of various accounting software systems to maintain accuracy and efficiency in property accounting processes.Responsibilities:

• Oversee property accounting cycles, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
• Maintain and update general ledger reconciliations on a monthly and annual basis
• Generate system-based accounting reports and process accounting journal entries accurately
• Prepare and maintain operating cost recovery calculation files
• Act as a liaison for the Property Management Team, addressing any inquiries as needed
• Assist in auditor requests and documentation
• Ensure standardized accounting processes are consistently applied across the portfolio
• Use property management software to generate relevant financial reports
• Support the preparation of financial reports and variance analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Compile and prepare annual property budgets and forecasts, including budget reporting for assigned properties
• Review and accurately interpret lease agreements
• Assist with special projects as needed
• Promote adherence to employee policies and commitment to occupational health and safety initiatives.

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience in commercial property accounting

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions is essential.

• Experienced in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Profound knowledge of Accrual Accounting is necessary.

• Auditing skills are a prerequisite for this role.

• Expertise in Property Accounting is mandatory.

• Familiarity with Yardi software is highly desirable.

Expected salary: $70000 – 85000 per year
