Job description: Property Accountant
Our client is seeking a Property Accountant to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong financial management skills and a commitment to operational excellence, contributing to the overall financial success of the properties.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Prepare Monthly Financial Reports/Packages
• Post Necessary Journal Entries and Maintain Accurate Books
• Reconcile Bank Accounts Regularly
• Ensure Efficient Cash Management for the Property
• Monitor and Reconcile Receivables
• Post Cheques to the Tenant’s Ledger, Prepare Deposit Slips
• Monitor and Review Accounts Payable
• Process Move-Out Changes and Refunds
• Set Up Properties and Tenants in Yardi
• Set Up APW in Yardi Elevate
• Set Up/Cancel Utilities
• Non-Residence Tax and GST Filing
• Annual Property Tax Invoicing
• Off-Board Properties
• Support Budgeting Processes

Your strengths include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation or in progress is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting or related field.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
