As a member of this collaborative team, you can expect a safe, diverse and inclusive environment, and on-going learning and career development opportunities.About The RoleReporting to the Corporate Quality Manager, the Field Quality Manager is responsible for providing technical support to senior project staff (Project Managers, Superintendents, etc.) and conducting required quality inspections in accordance with the required codes of construction. The incumbent is familiar with the core elements of a construction project and demonstrates technical proficiency with quality management systems, processes, and tools. The incumbent is also familiar with the majority of the inspection techniques, types of nondestructive examination, and the application of both, and ensures the requirements of Graham Registered Quality Control Manual(s) (QCMs) are implemented, as applicable. A typical shift is 5-2, 10 hours Mon-Thurs and 8 on Fri with no LOA.As a Field Quality Manager at Graham, you will be responsible for;

  • Implementation of the applicable Graham Quality Manual at the Shop or Field location
  • Development and implementation of the Project Specific Quality Plan (PSQP)
  • Development and implementation of project specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITP)
  • Reviewing the project specifications and drawings to determine which Graham WPS is applicable and ensuring that the selected WPS is approved by the Owner and or AI prior to the start of work.
  • Review the Construction drawings and specifications for any NDE and Heat Treatment requirements
  • Providing the Project Team with technical advice on matters related to Quality
  • Communicating and collaboration with the AI (ABSA SCO or Owner’s Inspector)
  • Manage and supervise daily inspection activities
  • Management of the Non-Conformance and Corrective Action process
  • Performing internal audits on self-performed scopes of work
  • Implement and manage a technical surveillance program
  • Review and approve subcontractor ITPs and turnover documents
  • Collect and report project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensure all turnover documents meet Client requirements
  • Filling out and certifying Manufacturer’s Data Reports: ABSA form AB-83 or AB-40 as applicable

Qualifications and Experience:

  • CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector (Certification in API-570 or API-510 considered an asset)
  • Trade certification in a mechanical trade (Welder, Pipefitter, Boilermaker etc.) or a degree / CET designation in Mechanical or Materials Engineering is preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in Quality Control. Prior Quality Management experience is preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge in related codes, standards and local regulations:

o ASME B31.3, B31.1, Section VIII Div 1, Section V and Section IX
o CSA W47/59, Z662, and B51
o Alberta Safety Codes Act, Pressure Equipment Safety Regulation, Pressure Welders Regulation, AB-518 and AB-513If this sounds like you, then Graham may be the right fit.
