As we continue to expand, we need a visionary leader like you to drive our safety-first culture to new heights.The Role:As our Regional Health & Safety Manager, you’ll be the cornerstone of our safety culture, ensuring compliance and promoting a proactive safety mindset across all divisions and projects. Your office will be based in Winnipeg, but your role will take you on extensive travels to our offices and job sites across the US and Canada, making a tangible impact on the ground.
- Relocation to Winnipeg will be considered for the right Canadian resident.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion Safety: Drive awareness and accountability for environmental, health, and safety performance and analyze potential safety issues to enhance Vector’s culture.
- Expert Resource: Act as a subject matter expert and resource for divisions, managing local safety programs and site-specific requirements.
- Coordinate Programs: Oversee company-wide safety and compliance programs, including training initiatives and online compliance efforts.
- Ensure Compliance: Conduct site audits and support divisions to ensure project completion in line with safety and environmental regulations.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and present annual HS plans, goals, and reports, driving continuous improvement.
- Incident Management: Assist in incident management, investigations, and corrective action design.
- Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and Inspect: Conduct regular safety compliance monitoring and site inspections.
- Documentation: Manage and document the administration of the company’s safety program.
- Management Reporting: Provide ongoing updates to management on any issues impacting work performance.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of safety management experience, with at least 5 years in construction.
- Certifications: NCSO designation is required; post-secondary education in HSE is preferred.
- Leadership: A results-oriented leader accustomed to fast-paced environments.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Health & Safety Acts, Policies, Regulations, and Industry Standards in construction.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Teams, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Requirements: Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and ability to pass Vector drug testing requirements.
- Extensive domestic (Canada) and international (US and more) travel is required 50-60% of the time, necessitating a passport and the ability to cross borders.
