The Ross family takes pride in providing compassionate, quality patient care.Department/Unit/Program DescriptionThe Complex Continuing Care unit is a specialized patient care area within Ross Memorial Hospital. A patient will be admitted to this unit if their condition is not medically stable and/or requires ongoing skilled, technology-based care; for example, stage four ulcers, transfusions, lung aspirations etc. The Complex Continuing Care Unit is on the forefront of a developing trend in health care. Recognizing the impact of the aging population, we have developed a specialization in Complex Care, maximizing health and physical ability in patients with complex chronic conditions.CCP2 is the home of the Functional Enhancement program (FE) and Complex Medical beds. The unit consists of a slow stream rehabilitation program for those patients who are unable to tolerate the intensity of the inpatient rehab program. The goal for these patients is to return home. CCP2 also care for patients whose requirements are beyond what can be managed in a long term care facility.*** Ross Memorial Hospital qualifies for the Government of Canada’s Student Loan Forgiveness Program. If you are a new grad and/or have not been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the last 6 months, you may be eligible to receive up to $25,000 in grant funding ***Position SummaryThe CCP2/Integrated Stroke/Rehabilitation Unit is currently seeking a Temporary Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse to join their team.Effective Date: As soon as possible
Ending on or before: January 15, 2025Essential Qualifications

• Current registration and member in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario, compliant with the Professional Standards and Standards of Practice for RPNs
• BCLS or current CPR certification essential, on hire
• Work Experience with non-invasive wound dressings required
• Post diploma courses and/or specialty experience in rehabilitation, palliative care and/or gerontology. Commitment to principles of care in these specialty areas is required
• Demonstrated skill in provision of supportive care for patients & families in complex situations
• Demonstrated skill in safe/correct techniques for transferring and positioning patients
• Experience with and demonstrated skill in providing client – centred care models
• Experience in a high performance interdisciplinary team
• Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Demonstrated effective communication skills with patients, families and professional team members, and community partners
• Professional practice reflects Ross Memorial corporate and CCP Program vision, values and goals
• Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Physical Assessment Course preferred (if not part of diploma program)
• Trained in Epic – training can be provided, but must pass required testing.

Hours of WorkMust be available to work Eight [8] and Twelve [12] hour shifts, days and evenings Monday to Sunday on a rotating schedule.
