Job description: Our Montreal based client is seeking an experienced SAP Transportation Management contractor to join their project immediately and will run until the end of January 2025 with possibility for extension. This will be a hybrid work setting with some potential travel required.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with various aspects of SAP TM including leading workshops, freight order management to project execution.
- This role involves configuring the SAP TM module to meet specific business requirements and optimizing transportation operations to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Configure and tailor the SAP TM module to align with business requirements, focusing on order management, planning, freight settlement, and charge calculation.
- Knowledge of configuring the SAP TM module to meet specific business requirements, including order management, planning, freight settlement, and charge calculation.
- Transportation Planning and Scheduling: Ability to plan and optimize routes, schedules, and resource utilization to ensure efficient transportation operations.
- Freight Order Management: Proficiency in managing freight orders, freight bookings, and freight units within the SAP TM system.
- Carrier Selection and Management: Skills in selecting and managing carriers, including negotiating contracts and managing carrier performance.
- Freight Costing and Settlement: Understanding of freight costing, invoicing, and settlement processes within SAP TM.
- Integration with Other SAP Modules: Experience with integrating SAP TM with other SAP modules such as SAP ERP, SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management)
- Transportation Network Design: Knowledge of designing and maintaining transportation networks, including locations, routes, and zones within SAP TM.
- Transportation Charge Management: Expertise in managing and calculating transportation charges based on various factors such as distance, weight, and service levels.
- Compliance and Reporting: Familiarity with legal compliance requirements related to transportation and the ability to generate reports for analysis and decision-making.
- SAP TM Master Data Management: Proficiency in managing master data elements such as business partners, products, and resources in SAP TM.
- EDI and Communication Technologies: Understanding of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and other communication technologies for data exchange with carriers and partners.
- Project Management: Skills in managing SAP TM implementation projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring project progress.
- Custom Development: Knowledge of custom development within SAP TM, including enhancements and modifications using ABAP or other relevant programming languages.
- Transportation Analytics: Skills in using analytics tools within SAP TM to gain insights into transportation operations and performance.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including logistics service providers, customers, and internal teams.
