Job description: We are looking for a Scheduler for a 6-month contract position in Calgary, Alberta, with possible extensions. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Hybrid schedule, at least 4 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.The NGL Commercial Scheduling Team works 7 days a week. The Scheduler position is included in the evening, holiday, and weekend rotation. Rotation is every 3-6 weeks and includes scheduling and handling issues on Holidays and weekends.Role Description
The Scheduler ensures the safe, compliant and efficient movement of NGL products in domestic and international markets. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining operational continuity, supporting nomination strategies, managing supply plans for various NGL components, and optimizing transportation, blending and storage. This is a frontline role that will collaborate with the Trading, Supply and Logistics Scheduling team that is crucial to downstream operations, optimizing supply chain from NGL production to product placement, driving commercial value, and enhancing trading and transportation strategies across North America.Role Responsibilities
- Create, automate and maintain tools to continue to improve the team’s processes
- Deliver reliable supply while minimizing work capital, maximizing commercial delivery and identifying optimization opportunities
- Provide support to Schedulers and Traders by determining daily physical position, and transportation capacity and utilization forecasts by asset
- Nominate volumes for shipments for all NGL facilitate and NGL pipelines that correspond with the TSL trade strategy
- Understand, track and notify key stakeholders of Force Majeure, cuts/curtailments/increases, track Pipeline outage report and assess impact
- Collaborate with NGL facilities, multiple carriers, customers and accounting teams
- Assist with monitoring, reviewing and reconciling purchase, sales and inventory volumes for all NGL facilities and NGL pipelines for month end close
- Verify and approve accuracy of customer invoices
- Cover NGL desks with a focus on accuracy and timely updates
- Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure best practices across all NGL facilities and different modes of transportations (truck, rail, pipeline) are documented
Required Skills and Experience
- Post-secondary education in Business, Economics, Engineering or a related field
- A minimum of 1-3 years of industry experience in Natural Gas logistics and/or analytics
- Industry experience in Business Development or other commercial functions is an asset
- System experience including Petrotranz, Geometrix, T4 Pipeline Portals, or Right Angle is a strong asset
- Understanding of North American commodity transportation networks of Natural Gas Liquids is an asset
- Understanding of conventional and oil sands upstream production operations is an asset
- Proficient in actively supporting change management
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
