Job description: Robert Half is looking to staff a Senior Accountant for a contractual role with one of our well-respected clients in the region of Waterloo Ontario!Responsibilities:
– Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
– Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
– Conduct month-end and year-end close processes
– Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits
– Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
– Monitor and report on key financial metrics and performance indicators
– Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local financial regulations
– Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management
– Develop and implement accounting policies and proceduresQualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
– Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
– Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
– Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
