Location: TorontoQuantum has two Senior Accountant positions vacant with our Ontario Government client, based in downtown Toronto. This is a 6-month contract with a potential for extension.Key Responsibilities:Financial Analysis and Reporting– Lead accounting functions to ensure accurate financial statements and reports.
– Develop financial accountability frameworks, policies, and standards with appropriate risk management.
– Advise management on financial policies, systems, internal controls, and accounting practices.
– Document business procedures and recommend process improvements for timely financial reporting.
– Advise senior management on financial policies and best practices.
– Ensure effective reporting and monitoring for management control and reporting requirements.
– Maintain cooperative efforts for efficient financial administration and advise staff on financial policies and internal controls.
– Draft internal communications regarding changes to financial policies and processes.Qualifications:– University degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
– CPA designation.
– Minimum of four years of financial experience, ideally in government or the broader public sector.
– Understanding of government accounting concepts and standards.
– Knowledge of GAAP, financial management, budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
– Strategic and critical financial thinking to analyze data and provide insights.
