Job description: Job Description:We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to become a key member of our team located in Burnaby, British Columbia. This role involves a variety of public practice duties and will play a critical role in maintaining our financial health and making sure all accounting activities comply with regulations.Responsibilities:

  • Carry out compilation engagements with precision and efficiency.
  • Manage both corporate and personal tax operations, from advisory and filing to submission.
  • Conduct review and audit work, including trust account administration.
  • Provide oversight and review of junior team members’ work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Utilize your skills in Public Accounting to enhance the financial decision-making process.
  • Act as a point of contact for financial queries and consultations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve and streamline financial procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting strategies and initiatives.
  • Handle other accounting-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required, with a Master’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is highly desirable
  • Proven experience in public accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with various departments
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
  • Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.
