About the Opportunity

  • Financial Reporting: Overall responsibility for timely and accurate reporting of all entities referred to above. More specifically, the role will be responsible for preparing all legal entity financial statements (including notes to financial statements) for the purpose of preparing the annual tax return. Ensure the proper maintenance of all general ledgers and the chart of accounts and the timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.
  • Income Tax, Withholding Tax, and HST Compliance: Work with the Senior Manager, Tax to plan, organize and prepare all of the “tax kits” that are provided to our tax advisors. Review of all draft and final returns prepared by our tax advisors. Work with the Senior Manager, Tax to make all required income tax installments. Prepare supporting working papers for annual HST filings and prepare all relevant withholding tax calculations and required remittances.
  • Fund Support: Provide support to the Fund Managers, including cash reconciliations for incoming capital calls, preparing all outgoing wires for capital distributions, and confirming relevant fund financial statement inputs on a quarterly basis.
  • Collaborate with Fund Team and external advisors on planned new investments and realization transactions, including providing input into structuring memos, reviewing legal documents, tax implications, and other matters.
  • Complete responses to Fund level investor queries, including audit confirmations and other ad hoc requests.
  • Process: Assist with the development of policies, practices, and controls for the processing of all financial transactions and reporting.
  • Other: The Senior Accountant will perform other duties as required, including cash and treasury management, various tax and other projects.

About You

  • Accredited accounting designation (CPA or in-progress)
  • 2-3 years of financial reporting and accounting experience
  • Financial statement and notes preparation and full-cycle accounting skillset
  • Tax exposure/experience is a strong asset
  • Private equity experiences an asset
