Job description: Job DescriptionOur client, a successful locally owned and operated company, is seeking a Senior Accountant, for a permanent opportunity in their Bedford, Nova Scotia office. We are looking for a dedicated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to the success of a company deeply rooted in the community.Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Full cycle accounting
• Forecast and budget preparation
• Account reconciliations
• Bank reconciliations
• Journal entries
• Track expenses and job costs while streamlining costs and creating efficiencies
• Financial analysis and reporting
• Financial statement preparation

Review, develop, and implement accounting processes and practices * Year-end preparation

• Other accounting duties and project work as required

Skills & Attributes for Success:

• Post-secondary education in accounting
• 5+ years’ full-cycle accounting experience
• Previous experience in a manufacturing/costing environment is ideal
• Proficiency with Jonas software is a definite asset
• Solid understanding of contract administration, progress billing
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Superior leadership skills and desire to contribute to a cohesive team
• Ability to take initiative and a strong work ethic
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Flexible and adaptable
