Job description: Job Description:We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our client in the Manufacturing industry based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including full scope financial reporting. This position reports into the Financial Controller.Responsibilities:· Responsible for Corporate Accounting: Prepare journal entries for month-end close and complete month-end close processes.· Prepare balance sheet reconciliations; apply technical knowledge and judgement to ensure accuracy of accounts and timely resolution of issues· Responsible for Fixed asset accounting: AFE and capital project maintenance, fixed assets ledger and fixed asset records· Prepare the month-end internal statements, reports and compile information for board presentations· US sales tax administration· Provide support for annual external audit and other audits· Assist in the preparation and consolidation of budgets· Preparing working papers and analysis for property tax assessors· Assist Financial controller in the insurance renewal process· Back up on Pulp Sales Accounting· Perform other duties as required including backing-up other team members (pulp sales accounting) and vacation coverage· Other duties as assignedRequirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
- Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is desirable
- Minimum 3 years working in full cycle accounting
- Experience in SAP is an asset
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using financial software and advanced Excel skills
Expected salary: $90000 – 105000 per year
